Allen is registered by the state of Pennsylvania as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and is board certified in adult primary care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is also certified in critical care nursing by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Allen is the founder and medical director of NovusACS, the Lehigh Valley’s premier primary care LGBT practice. Allen has extensive experience in patient care and nursing education. During the course of his career, Allen developed the Lehigh Valley’s first medication adherence program for patients with HIV and AIDS was responsible for securing a major grant to provide HIV prevention and testing for individuals in the Lehigh Valley. Over the course of his career Allen has received multiple awards and accolades from the community including the prestigious Josephine Ritz RN Nursing Award for Excellence in Patient and Family Teaching, the President’s Choice Award from Fighting AIDS Continuously Together (F.A.C.T.) in 2007, and Nursing Excellence Award from the St Luke’s University Health Network in 2012. In 2015, NovusACS was awarded LGBT business of the year and the Fighting AIDS Continuously Together Presidents Choice Award for service to the community.
Susana Garcia, Nurse Practitioner
Susana initially joined the NOVUS ACS as a student for two clinical rotation where she assisted in all levels of care. After completing her degree from Walden University, graduating at the top of her class as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, she became part of the NOVUS team.
She comes to us with 13 years of intensive care experience from Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest as a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse. As a registered nurse she served as a charge nurse, lead preceptor for the new RNs and students. In 2013, she was a guest speaker at the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses Conference where she presented critical findings as a potential alternative solution to the complicated hemorrhage stroke patients. Her undergraduate education comprised of 2 years at Northampton Community College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and transferred to East Stroudsburg University on a full academic scholarship. She graduated from ESU, Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing while raising a family of four children. Her additional certifications include Advanced Life Support Services & Basic Life Services. She is currently working on her HIV certification. Her passion lies in the serving the underserved community in the Pocono Area as a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) nurse practitioner offering personalized health care.
Rachel Blaufarb, Medical Assistant
Rachel graduated from Northampton Community College with specialized diplomas in Medical Assisting and Medical Billing & Coding. She is currently in pursuit of her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from Cedar Crest College. When Rachel isn't working hard or studying, she hangs out with her cute pug named Melvin. "I enjoy working at NovusACS because of the strong relationships I've built with patients and my coworkers."
Crystalynn Levisay, 340B Coordinator/Registered Medical Assistant
Crissy began her journey at NovusACS in 2015 with her specialized diplomas as Medical Assistant and in Healthcare Billing and Coding. She will help you get checked in and checked out. Crissy enjoys her work because she “loves helping people… everyone needs TLC, and I appreciate being able to give back.” “I like working with Allen because he is ethical and puts patient care first. I feel integrity in life is extremely important and it is nice to see it is never compromised.”
Michael Schaadt, Office Manager
Michael has a Masters in Pastoral Counseling and is a licensed nursing home administrator. He has a passion to help others and has been working in the social services and healthcare fields for many years both as a provider of services and administrator. “I feel fortunate that I have been given the incredible opportunity to join in the mission and work of NovusACS. I’m excited to be part of this great team!”
